A Message From The President – June 2022
As the dog days of summer are starting to kick in, security conferences are starting to make a return. Even though attendance was lower than in the past, RSA returned this month. If anyone in our membership attended, we’d love to get an update from you at our next meeting.
Last month, I gave a presentation on Identity and how it is important to all aspects of Information Security. Ensuring that your Information Security teams work as a a single unit and avoid working in silos will allow your Security program to grow stronger.
For those of you who have registered with our site, you can watch the replay of the May meeting here: with following passcode: 05mP^jgt
In July, Ralph Martins will be presenting on Quantum Computing and its impact on security. The changes that will occur once this technology is available will mark a quantum (sorry for the pun) leap in terms of the changes that will occur. Go ahead and register for the meeting here: This event will be strictly virtual.
We continue to work on a one day workshop preceding the National Cyber Summit taking place in Huntsville on September 21-22. The current plan is to have it take place on September 20. This workshop will focus on why ISSA matters to you. More information will follow.
It won’t be long before we start accepting registration for the fall CISSP preparatory classes, taking place August 18 – October 20. The course is free. But you will need to purchase the book. Each session is led by ISSA members who have already passed their ICSSP exams. So take advantage of these classes in the fall. Registration will be open and shared in the July meeting.
President
