A Message From The President – February 2022
I hope everyone is having a quiet and secure February. It is a welcome break from the last couple of months dealing with Log4J. I wanted to thank Dustin Childs for his overview of ZDI. Everyone in Security knows the importance of patching and it seems like most of us are spend a lot of time in reactionary mode. But without researchers and vendors working tirelessly to identify and resolve vulnerabilities, we would have many more problems than we do today. It’s important to maintain constant communications with your vendors, keep abreast of security vulnerabilities and to make use of their latest security features to protect your assets.
We’re looking forward to the March meeting. We will have Jonathan Nguyen-Duy, VP-Field CISO Strategic Services from Fortinet speaking about Getting Cybersecurity Right – Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture (CSMA). We will continue to provide an in-person as well as a virtual experience for the meeting. If you do plan to attend in person, please be sure to select that option when registering. Also, please show up if you register for the in-person meeting. We provide lunches based on those numbers and hate to waste food orders. You can register for the event here.
We are excited to announce we are making plans for a one day conference this summer. The details are still being worked out. But our hope is to have an event in Birmingham towards the end of July. We’ll keep you posted as we finalize plans.
We look forward to seeing everyone in March. If you have ideas for improving our membership, please let us know.
President
Willie Clemons
